Our single-site plant in the heart of Derbyshire has everything we need to meet our customers’ requirements. From our state-of-the-art SMS HybrEx extrusion press, tool room and our hardening oven, to our GarnerSys integrated production software and brand new powder coating plant, we do it all (and we deliver nationwide!).

Extrusion

Every piece of equipment in our modern aluminium extrusion plant has been carefully selected based on its ability to support and enhance our operations. For instance, our SMS HybrEx 35 press is more energy efficient than a traditional hydraulic press and it can extrude 4 tonnes of aluminium per hour. It extrudes billets up to 228.6 mm in diameter and 1,400 mm in length and can quickly change dies over with no downtime. The press has an innovative and patented linear loader, which means billets are quickly and precisely loaded.

Toolroom

We operate a modern and technologically advanced aluminium extrusion plant, but we very much rely upon our team of trained technicians in the tool room to maintain our dies to a high standard. The work undertaken behind the scenes in the tool room enables us to produce products at the standard our customers have become accustomed to.

We have digitised the maintenance process through GarnerSys, which is our bespoke integrated production software. It links every workstation at our plant and helps us to manage every aspect of the production process. The success of GarnerSys is reflected in the feedback we received from auditors when we achieved our ISO9001:2015 accreditation for quality management.

Hardening Oven

Hardening extruded aluminium is a key part of the strengthening process. While we have to heat the material to shape it and achieve the profile our customers have specified, it is the strengthening that increases the product’s integrity. We use an OMAV furnace, run out, handling unit, and ageing oven.

Powder Coating

Recently, we invested £1 million to bring our powder coating plant in-house next to our extrusion plant. This is good news for our customers as it reduces our carbon footprint (no need to outsource to a third party) and streamlines our processes while also decreasing the time to complete an order as we have more control over the supply chain and product processes.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art powder coating plant, we can now offer trade customers a range of colours and finishes that are blemish-free, every time. We operate a seven stage chrome-free pre-treatment system and a GEMA Magic Cylinder fast colour change system to enhance the process. We are working to exceed the standard set out by Qualicoat to further set ourselves apart from our competition.

Quality Systems

Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Every batch of aluminium extruded in our factory can be tracked via our unique system, which involves creating a QR code for every item. This is part of our rigorous quality control system, GarnerSys. It enables us to link every work station in the plant, helping to automate processes and ensure our high standards are maintained.

We are members of the Aluminium Federation (ALFED), which is committed to innovation and best practices. We are also members of Made in Britain, which champions and celebrates the achievements of UK manufacturers. Our ISO9001:2015 accreditation highlights our commitment to quality management. Our BS 4873:2016 accreditation ensures we are working to the correct specification for aluminium alloy windows and doors.

Logistics

Every time a prospective customer asks us for a quote, we include delivery as standard. Being able to offer a dedicated delivery service through our logistics team means we can liaise with customers directly, so they know when to expect their order. It also strengthens our offering as we do not have to rely on external haulage contractors.
